Question 1

Is Outside Zone free to use?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every tool on the site is free to use. You can browse the full set on the All Tools page.

Question 2

Do I need an account?

Accepted Answer

No account is needed to use the tools. Sign-in is only there for features tied to your profile.

Question 3

What can I do here?

Accepted Answer

Outside Zone covers three areas: NFL analytics (player and team stats, route and coverage data), fantasy football (rankings, mock drafts, dynasty value, trade tools), and college football (ratings, transfer portal, recruiting, schedule strength).

Question 4

Where does the data come from?

Accepted Answer

Stats are built from NFL play-by-play and participation data, along with many other xEP Metrics. Fantasy rankings blend consensus expert ranks with live draft data. College ratings combine established systems like SP+, FPI and more.

Question 5

How do I sort or filter a table?

Accepted Answer

Most stat tables let you tap a column header to sort by it, and tap again to reverse. Tools with position tabs or format toggles (like 1QB/SF) reshuffle the whole board when you switch.

Question 6

How often is the data updated?

Accepted Answer

Data refreshes on a regular cadence from its sources. During the season, expect stats to update through the week as games are processed.

Question 7

What does a stat mean?

Accepted Answer

Every metric used on the site is defined in plain English on the Glossary page, grouped by category with search.

Question 8

Why do some advanced stats show null or blank?

Accepted Answer

Tracking and charting metrics aren't available for every player or play — backups and low-volume players often have gaps. A blank means the underlying data wasn't recorded, not that the value is zero.

Question 9

How accurate are the projections?

Accepted Answer

Projections are directional — best used to compare players and strategies, not as exact point forecasts. Where possible the tools lean on consensus and draft data rather than raw projections.

Question 10

What is the difference between 1QB and Superflex?

Accepted Answer

Superflex leagues let you start a second QB in a flex slot, which pushes quarterbacks much higher in value. Most ranking tools have a 1QB/SF toggle that reshuffles the board.

Question 11

What is dynasty value and how is it scaled?

Accepted Answer

Dynasty value is an approximate long-term worth on a 1000-scale, where the top asset sits near 1000. It reflects production and age. See the Glossary for the full definition.

Question 12

Does the trade calculator do redraft?

Accepted Answer

The trade calculator runs dynasty now. Redraft mode comes online once the season begins and redraft values stabilize.

Question 13

A page or player link is not loading.

Accepted Answer

Try a hard refresh first (Ctrl+Shift+R, or Cmd+Shift+R on Mac) to clear a cached version. If it still fails, let us know which page on the Contact page.

Question 14

Do the tools work on mobile?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every tool is built to work on phones — tables, controls, and charts adapt to smaller screens.

Question 15

I found a bug or wrong number.

Accepted Answer

Please report it on the Contact page with the tool name and player if you can — accuracy matters and these reports help a lot.
